For those of you that are wondering who I am and why I've created this blog I wanted to give you some pertinent info. I'm old--my wife and I just celebrated our 32nd anniversary. We have four children (3 boys and a girl) ranging from 30 to 20 years old. I have been a research analyst and author for about my whole life. I'm
ex-military (Air Force and Army) who survived the Vietnam War, invasion of Grenada, Philippines Revolution, and one kidnapping attempt in Thailand. I am the Travel Correspondent for Cigar Magazine and play a plain clothes detective (background actor) on HBO's The Wire (Season 4).
When my daughter informed me that she wanted to get married, I was amazed at the lack of information for the Father of the Bride. Here was an event that I am investing more money in that my first house and first new car combined and there is virtually no information other than 'Write checks and be supportive.' This is wrong, so I'm chronicling my path through this mine field (including the missteps) with the hopes that it helps someone else. Hopefully by the time my daughter's wedding occurs in October 2006 I will have succeeded in compiling enough tips to create an e-book.

Hi Ken, I came to your site via your press release. It really caught my eye because you are quite right in thinking there isn't much advice for fathers of the bride. I have posted a blog about your site on my wedding blog www.Wedaholic.com and have put your feed in my bloglines account. I wish you lots of luck with the site and if you want your book reviewed just let me know!
Best Wishes
Elle
